Paolo Onofri

Vice Chairman at Prometeia

Founder and Chairman of Prometeia Associazione, founder and Vice Chairman of Prometeia and Vice Chairman of Prometeia Advisor SIM. Since 2000 he has been Grand Officer of the Italian Republic for his contribution to developing the economic policy that enabled Italy to join the Euro. He is an Independent Director in IGI and a Compliance Officer of Panariagroup. Graduated in Political Science at the University of Bologna in 1969, he continued his studies at Oxford under the tutelage of Sir John Hicks. Between 1974 and 2012 he taught on the course relating to the grouping of Economic Policy. He was Economic Advisor to Prime Minister (1996 - 1998). Economic Advisor to Treasury Minister (1998-2000). Economic Advisor to Treasury Minister (1999-2000). Economic Advisor to Prime Minister (2000-2001). Between 1999 and 2003 he was a member of the Social Security Expenditure Evaluation Committee. The main focus of his studies is the analysis of the effects of macroeconomic policies. More specifically, he carries out research using statistical-econometric instruments in order to provide quantitative evaluations for the management of economic policy and forecasts on the evolution of the Italian economy. He was a contributor to the “Il Sole 24Ore” newspaper, focusing on Italian and European economic policy, and to “Affari&Finanza”.
