Anthony Ross Jones

Anthony Ross Jones has had a long and varied career in finance and management. Anthony Ross began their career in 1999 as the General Manager of Crux Technologies Limited, a listed integrated IT resource and solutions provider. In 2001, they moved to Hoechst SA Ltd (became Hosaf Fibres (Pty) Ltd) as Finance Director, where they completely restructured the finances of the company to move it from a loss of over R180m in 2000 to a profit of R22m in 2001. In 2003, they joined Solenta Aviation (Pty) Ltd as Finance Director and Business Development Director, and was instrumental in turning the company around from the brink of insolvency to become the second biggest aircraft fleet manager in Africa. In 2006, they became Chief Finance Officer and General Manager of Qwila Air (Pty) Ltd, where they implemented strong financial management and saved the company from liquidation. From 2008 to 2013, they were Chief Financial Officer of IQ Business (Pty) Ltd, the leading independent management consulting firm in Africa. Anthony Ross then moved to Grandmark International (Pty) Ltd as Chief Financial Officer, where they restructured the Finance Department to cater for the company's exponential growth. In 2017, they began working for The FD Centre Limited as Part-time Finance Director and Chief Finance Officer, and also took on the role of Finance Trustee for The Diocesan College Trust. In 2018, they became Chief Financial Officer of Propelair (Phoenix Product Development Limited), where they innovated and led the company through multiple fundraising rounds totaling £9.6m.

Anthony Ross Jones completed their secondary education at Diocesan College, Rondebosch from 1965 to 1976. Anthony Ross then attended the University of Cape Town from 1977 to 1979, where they earned a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in Accounting and Business/Management. Anthony Ross continued their studies at the University of Cape Town and obtained a CTA in Chartered Accountancy in 1980, as well as a B Sc (Hons) in (Operations Research) in the same year. Anthony Ross then completed their Chartered Accountancy (CA (SA)) at the Public Accountants' and Auditors' Board from 1981 to 1984. Anthony Ross is also a FInstD.
