Ella Xu

Ella Xu is an interaction designer at Propelland. Previously, they were a designer at Smith-Miller + Hawkinson from October 2017 to June 2021. Ella was also a teaching associate at Columbia University in the City of New York from June 2017 to August 2017, where they taught the GSAPP AAD 2017 Summer Studio "Technique (Your Technique)" with Mark Rakatansky and was a guest critic at GSAPP Studio Final Reviews. Prior to that, Ella was a designer at Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architects from September 2015 to March 2016.

Ella Xu has a M.S. in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning & Preservation. Ella also has a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) from Shanghai Jiao Tong University - School of Design and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. In addition, they are certified by Green Business Certification, Inc. in LEED AP Building Design + Construction and by IDEO U in Leading Complex Projects and Designing Strategy.
