ProPublica is an independent, nonprofit newsroom that produces investigative journalism in the public interest.
We’re looking for our first audience data and insights manager, someone who can be a strategic and analytical collaborator and who can generate actionable data insights to guide the organization’s efforts. This person will help us measure what matters and will use data analysis and some engineering skills to surface the insights and opportunities that will make their colleagues’ work stronger and advance ProPublica’s mission.
This role reports jointly to the director of audience strategy and the chief product and brand officer. This position will work across ProPublica’s newsroom and cross-functional product teams and present regularly to the organization’s leadership.

This role is open to remote candidates or hybrid work from ProPublica’s headquarters in New York City. Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. The expected salary for this position is $95,000 to $115,000.
This is a good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay. The final wage will take into account a person’s experience, accomplishment and location. ProPublica is committed to paying its staff equitably, and these ranges should not be considered wage limits or caps.
