Sonya Hayer

Sonya Hayer is an accomplished professional in governance and administrative management with extensive experience in both the financial and municipal sectors. As the Manager of Governance at Prospera Credit Union since April 2022, Sonya oversees the meeting processes for the Board and its committees, manages compliance with statutory requirements, and implements Board decisions while maintaining corporate governance policies. Prior to this role, Sonya served at the City of Surrey for over a decade, holding positions including Assistant City Clerk, where support was provided to the City Clerk and strategic input was delivered on legislated requirements. Sonya's foundational experience includes roles as Administrative Assistant and Clerk 2, contributing to various advisory committees and managing official documentation processes. Sonya holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Kwantlen Polytechnic University.
