Pedro Oyuela M.D., Mph

Pedro Oyuela, MD, MPH has a diverse work experience in the field of medical and pharmacovigilance. PEDRO currently holds the position of Vice President of Pharmacovigilance at Protagonist Therapeutics since 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Group Medical Director of Safety at AbbVie from 2021 to 2022. Before that, they served as the Senior Director and Head of PV at Agenus from 2019 to 2021. Pedro also has extensive experience at Amgen, where they held the role of Medical Director of Global Patient Safety from 2014 to 2019. PEDRO worked in a similar position at Genzyme from 2010 to 2014. Earlier in their career, they gained valuable experience in epidemiology at the Palm Beach County Health Department and worked as a Clinical Research Associate at PPD. Pedro began their career as a Staff Physician at COMCAJA-Colombia.

Dr. Pedro Oyuela has a diverse education history. PEDRO began their education at Universidad del Rosario, where they earned their MD degree in Medicine from 1991 to 1997. PEDRO then pursued further studies and received an MPH degree in Public Health from Florida International University from 2004 to 2007.

Continuing their medical education, Dr. Oyuela completed a General Surgery Residency at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine from 2008 to 2009, earning their MD degree. PEDRO further specialized in Preventive Medicine and Public Health at Nova Southeastern University from 2009 to 2010 as a PGY-3 resident.

In addition to their education, Dr. Oyuela also obtained certification from the American Board of Preventive Medicine in January 2016.
