Joy R.

Joy R. has a strong background in the clinical research field, with experience spanning over two decades. Currently, they hold the position of Associate Director, Clinical Scientist at Protara Therapeutics, a role they have held since May 2023. Prior to this, Joy worked at NOVAVAX INC starting in 2020, where they initially served as a Clinical Research Scientist and later advanced to the role of Sr. Clinical Research Scientist. Joy joined DOCS in 2016 and held the positions of Clinical Study Manager and Clinical Project Lead II until October 2020. Joy's previous experience includes serving as a Clinical Scientist at bioMerieux from 2011 to 2015. Before that, they worked as a Research Scientist at North Carolina Central University from 2010 to 2011. Joy began their career as a Graduate Research Assistant at Wake Forest University, where they worked from 2003 to 2009. Throughout their work history, Joy has consistently demonstrated their expertise and dedication in the field of clinical research.

Joy R. has a strong educational background with a focus on science and research. Joy began their education at Denbigh High School, where they studied from 1995 to 1999. After completing high school, they pursued their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Microbiology and Cell Science at the University of Florida, which they completed from 2001 to 2003.

Following their undergraduate studies, Joy R. continued their academic journey at Wake Forest University. From 2003 to 2009, they pursued a Ph.D. in Molecular Medicine and Translational Science, specializing in Tumor Immunology and Bioluminescent Imaging.

In 2010 and 2011, they enrolled in Durham Technical Community College, where they obtained a Certification in Clinical Trials Research. This additional qualification highlights their interest in and commitment to conducting clinical research.

In terms of certifications, Joy R. obtained the certification "Certified Clinical Research Associate" from the Academy of Clinical Research Professionals in April 2014. Additionally, they completed a course called "The Six Morning Habits of High Performers" offered by LinkedIn in October 2020. These certifications demonstrate their dedication to ongoing professional development and staying up to date with the latest advancements in their field.
