Wei Sun

Wei Sun has been in the medical field since 1998. Starting as a Senior Clinical Applications Specialist at Dade Behring (Siemens diagnostics) Shanghai Office, Wei Sun then moved to Baylor College of Medicine in 2001 as a Research Postdoctoral Fellow/Associate. In 2006, Wei Sun became a Research Investigator at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, and then moved to SpectraCell Laboratories, Inc. in 2007 as the Manager of R&D. In 2010, Wei Sun joined UCB as a Senior Medical Science Liaison, and then moved to Amgen in 2016 in the same role. In 2018, Wei Sun became the Head of Clinical Trial Liaison (CTL) & Medical Director of Oncology biologics TA at Sichuan Kelun Pharmaceutical Research Insititue, subsidiary of Sichuan Kelun Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd, and also a Sr. Medical Science Liaison at EMD Serono, Inc. a business of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany. In 2020, Wei Sun joined Novocure as the Medical Director of Clinical Affairs, and most recently in 2022, Wei Sun became the Medical Director of Clinical Development at Protara Therapeutics.

Wei Sun started their educational journey in 1989, when they obtained their M.D. from Shanghai Second Medical University. Wei then went on to receive their M.S. in Immunology from the same university in 1994. In 1999, they completed their Ph.D. in Immunology from Shanghai Second Medical University. Finally, from 2001 to 2005, Wei Sun was a Postdoctoral fellow at Baylor College of Medicine, where they studied T cell immunology, multiple sclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis.
