Teresa Burns

Teresa Burns has extensive work experience in the field of privacy and healthcare compliance. Teresa currently serves as the Director of Privacy Operations and Privacy Officer for Protenus, where they are responsible for ensuring data analytics company's compliance with health data security and privacy regulations. Prior to this role, they were the Deputy Privacy Officer at Johns Hopkins Medicine, where they oversaw HIPAA and privacy compliance in a large academic medical center and health system. Teresa also has a background in legal work, having held various positions in-house and with local law firms, specializing in areas such as privacy and HIPAA compliance, commercial litigation, contract drafting and negotiation, and real estate transactions.
