Ira Miller

Vice President Of Engineering at Provenance Blockchain

Ira Miller has over 10 years of work experience in the software engineering field. In 2006, they began working for the State of Montana as an Internet Technology Services Manager, where they managed technical teams for web based application development, security and content management. Ira then became the eGovernment Services Section Manager, where they managed a team of web developers and served as lead developer and architect for developing systems on Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005, IIS and ASP. NET with C#. In 2012, they joined SRI International as a Senior Software Engineering Manager, where they were responsible for management and technical mentorship of software engineering staff. Ira also served as a Program Manager, Senior Software Engineer, and Project Manager. In 2018, they joined Figure as a Director of Engineering and Principal Engineer. In their role as Director of Engineering, they were responsible for protocol engineering team that maintained and extended the public Provenance Blockchain. Ira also provided assessment of emerging trends in the space for executive management and determined strategic direction for blockchain capabilities. In 2022, they joined Provenance Blockchain Foundation as the Vice President of Engineering.

Ira Miller attended Montana State University-Bozeman from 1999 to 2001, where they earned a degree in Computer Science. In 2012, they completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology - Software Emphasis from Western Governors University. In addition, Miller has obtained three certifications: Project+ from CompTIA in June 2014, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in January 2013, and Linux+ from CompTIA in March 2013.
