Providence Hall seeks a highly skilled and enthusiastic part-time elementary interventionist (non-SPED paraprofessional) to join our team. As an elementary interventionist (non-SPED paraprofessional), you provide classroom support to teachers by implementing math and reading interventions to individual students or small groups of students as part of our multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS).

Schedule:

  • About 28 hours/week during the school year on days when students are present

  • May need to attend some department, building, and LEA professional development, trainings and meetings

Responsibilities:

  • Consult and collaborate with teachers and the Assessment & Intervention Director to prepare reading and math interventions to meet the needs of individual students.

  • Assist teachers in diagnosing reading and math strengths/weaknesses and then align outcomes with techniques and materials to increase skills.

  • Work with the teacher to monitor student progress.

  • Implement math and reading interventions in small groups and one-on-one settings.

  • Efficiency use the various assessment platforms used at the school to interpret data for positive student outcomes.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to support the MTSS process and support the school in general.

  • Maintain effective communication channels with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative learning community.

  • Actively participate in assigned meetings, professional developments, and other trainings.

  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

  • Previous experience working with children, in an instructional setting preferred.

  • Good organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multi-task.

  • Positive interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to maintain calm in high-stress situations.

  • Willing to effectively problem-solving as needed.

  • Basic knowledge of Google Workspace and its collaboration tools.

  • Capacity to perform all the responsibilities listed in this posting.

  • Must pass a comprehensive background check, including criminal history, and professional references as a condition of employment.

  • Lift up to 25 pounds, traverse school facility, and lead students to safety in the event of an emergency.
