VP, System Architecture at PsiQuantum

Mercedes Gimeno-Segovia has a strong background in quantum architecture and system architecture. Currently, they are working as the VP System Architecture at PsiQuantum since December 2021. Prior to this, they held the role of Senior Director, Quantum Architecture from April 2020 to December 2021. Before joining PsiQuantum, they worked as the Director of Optical Architecture from January 2019 to April 2020. Their earlier work experience includes being the Lead Quantum Architect at PsiQuantum from January 2017 to January 2019. Mercedes also has experience as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant at the University of Bristol from November 2015 to January 2017. Additionally, they served as a Visiting Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Calgary from January 2016 to December 2016.

Mercedes Gimeno-Segovia earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from Universidad Complutense de Madrid from 2006 to 2011. Mercedes then pursued a Master of Research degree in Controlled Quantum Dynamics from Imperial College London from 2011 to 2012. Finally, from 2012 to 2015, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Quantum Computing from Imperial College London.
