Wei Huang

Wei Huang has been working in the field of bioinformatics since 2010. In 2010, they began as a Research Intern at Academia Sinica, Taiwan, where they researched and collected data on juvenile cockroach hormone levels and the characteristics of winners of male cockroach Nauphoeta cinerea fights in Institute of Cellular and Organismic Biology. In 2014, they became an Intern at Second Chance Wildlife Center. In 2016, they worked as a Laboratory Animal Care Technician at the University of Maryland. In 2017, they worked as an Intern at the Patuxent Wildlife Research Center, and also held the roles of Animal Care and Use Committee Program Assistant and Program Support Specialist at The National Institutes of Health. Currently, they are a Bioinformatics Data Scientist at Psomagen.

Wei Huang's education history includes a Master of Science in Bioinformatics and Animal Sciences from the University of Delaware, obtained between 2019 and 2021. Wei also holds a Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences from the University of Maryland, obtained between 2014 and 2016. Prior to that, they obtained an Associate's degree in Life Science from Montgomery College between 2012 and 2014. In addition, Wei has obtained several certifications, including Python Data Structures, Using Databases with Python, Using Python to Access Web Data, Design and Interpretation of Clinical Trials, Programming for Everybody (Getting Started with Python), and Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT/RALAT) from Coursera and AALAS, respectively.
