Rachelle Varga

Rachelle Varga is a Quality Control Chemist and Laboratory Assistant at Psygen since October 2021. Prior experience includes serving as a DNA Sequencing Technician at the University of Calgary from December 2015 to September 2021, where Rachelle operated Illumina instruments for next-generation sequencing applications, ensured quality control in sample evaluation, and performed capillary-based Sanger sequencing. Additionally, Rachelle was a Research Assistant in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology for the annual international iGEM competition, overseeing a team of 13 undergraduate students and teaching synthetic biology techniques. Rachelle also contributed as an Undergraduate Student Researcher in iGEM Calgary, focusing on the development of a transdermal patch and coordinating outreach events. Rachelle holds a Bachelor of Science in Cellular, Molecular and Microbial Biology with Honours from the University of Calgary and a Certificate in Visual Design specializing in Photography from the same institution.
