Ann Whidden has over 17 years of experience in the field of communications. ann is currently serving as the Vice President of Strategic Communications at the Public Health Institute (PHI), where they lead a team responsible for communications strategy, internal communications, public relations, and brand management for over 150 programs and projects. ann works closely with PHI's policy team to develop advocacy strategies, identify influential messages, and utilize media opportunities to amplify public health policy messages.
Prior to their position at PHI, Ann worked as a Communications Manager at the Prevention Institute from 2009 to 2012. Before that, they served as the Communications and Internet Director at the National Sexuality Resource Center at San Francisco State University from 2008 to 2010. Ann also has experience as a Communications and Programs Consultant from 2005 to 2008, and as a Program Director at the American Indian Child Resource Center from 2003 to 2005.
Ann Whidden has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Carnegie Mellon University and a Masters degree in Public Health from San Francisco State University.
