Bob Zdenek has a diverse work experience that spans over several years. Bob has held various roles in different organizations, showcasing their expertise in public health, community development, and advocacy.
In 1993, Bob worked as a Senior Associate at the Anne E. Casey Foundation, where they played a role in designing and implementing place-based initiatives.
Bob then went on to work at the United Way of America as the Vice President of Community Building, where they helped launch an asset building initiative and oversaw crisis response activities.
From 2005 to 2007, Bob served as the Executive Director of the Alliance for Healthy Homes, focusing on eliminating indoor environmental hazards in low-income housing.
Bob also worked at the National Housing Institute as the Interim Director in 2007. Bob was responsible for supporting affordable housing and community building opportunities, including publishing a journal called Shelterforce.
At the New School University, Robert J. Milano Graduate School of Policy and Management, Bob worked as a part-time faculty member from 2000 to 2012.
In 2009, Bob started their own consulting firm called Robert Zdenek Associates and continued to work there until the present day. Bob also worked as a Principal at Robert Zdenek Associates from 2017 to the present day.
In 2011, Bob took on a role as the Newark Construction Incubator Coordinator and Designer at YouthBuild Newark. Bob coordinated and designed a business incubator focusing on the construction and green building industry.
From 2012 to the present day, Bob has been the Director of Special Initiatives at the National Community Reinvestment Coalition, where they focus on aging economic issues.
Finally, in 2017, Bob began working at the Public Health Institute as a Principal Investigator.
Bob Zdenek attended the University of Southern California from 1970 to 1974, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) and a Doctor of Public Administration (DPA) in the field of Political Science and Public Administration. Following this, from 1975 to 1978, they pursued a Master of Arts (MA) at George Washington University in International Affairs. Additionally, they earned a Doctor of Public Administration in Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management from the University of Southern California.
