James Sater

Scenery Shop Manager at The Public Theater

James Sater is the scene shop foreperson at The Public Theater. James has been working in the theater industry for over 15 years. James started their career as an assistant technical director at The Boston Conservatory. James then went on to work as a freelance theatre technician for the New York Shakespeare Festival. In their current position, they are responsible for the construction of sets and the hang and focus of lighting equipment for The Public Theater.

James Sater completed their Bachelor of Arts at State University of New York College at Potsdam in Drama and Dramatics/Theatre Arts, General. James also went to Saranac Lake High School. James has certification from NYS DMV in Driver License Class D, FDNY New York Fire Department in Fire Guard for Torch Applications (F60), Torch Use of Flammable Gases (G60), and Ferrari Driving School Inc in Forklift Operator.

James Sater works with Lico Whitfield - Production Manager, Michael Rivera - Lighting Office Administrator, and Chris Guzman - Assistant. Their manager is Ruth E. Sternberg, Production Executive.
