Mercy Karuga has a diverse work experience in the field of people operations and talent management. Mercy is currently working at PULA as the People Operations & Talent Management Lead, where they are responsible for developing and streamlining the talent management strategy, performance, and reward framework. At the Moto Hope Foundation, Mercy worked as a Human Resource Consultant, collaborating with the Group CEO to review the people strategy, develop HR policies, and address employee relations issues.

Earlier in their career, Mercy worked at Mellech Group as a Human Resource Administrator & Executive Assistant, where they provided business support, managed teams, and oversaw employee relations and talent acquisition. Mercy also prepared the company's strategic plan and implemented accountability check-points.

Mercy's work experience also includes their role as a Psychologist at Connect Initiative, where they provided counseling services to clients and managed budgets. Mercy worked with notable organizations such as Compassion International, KEPSA, and Word of Life.

Mercy Karuga holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Kenyatta University, which they earned from 2011 to 2015. Mercy later completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management at the College of Human Resource Management from 2016 to 2017. In 2022, Mercy obtained a Certificate in Corporate & Commercial Law I: Contracts & Employment Law from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Mercy then pursued a Practitioners Diploma in Executive Coaching at Career Connections from 2023 to 2024. Currently, Mercy is studying for a Masters of Science in Management and Organizational Development at the United States International University - Africa, which they started in 2024.
