Zhengqi Tan

Zhengqi Tan has a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. They currently work as a Scientist at Pumas-AI, Inc., starting in August 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth from August 2017 to July 2022. During this time, they also worked as a Pre-doctoral Trainee at JPS Health Network from August 2017 to July 2018.

Before their time at the University of North Texas, Zhengqi Tan worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University at Buffalo from August 2014 to September 2017. Additionally, they held a position as an Epidemiologist at Madera County Public Health from August 2016 to July 2017, where they conducted various epidemiological projects and designed statistical analysis plans.

In 2015, Zhengqi Tan worked as a Health Informatics and Population Management Analyst intern at Independent Health, where they provided ICD-10 mapping strategies and reviewed literature on the impact of ICD code transition.

Earlier in their career, Zhengqi Tan worked as a Public Health Physician at Shanghai Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention from June 2010 to May 2013. During this time, they led state-level implementation for national public health risk assessment and conducted environmental data management and analysis.

In 2009, Zhengqi Tan worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Fudan University, conducting field epidemiologic investigation on occupational safety and health status. They also gained clinical experience as a Clinical Intern at Shanghai No.5 People's Hospital from January 2009 to September 2009.

Zhengqi Tan completed a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) degree in Public Health and General Preventive Medicine at Fudan University from 2005 to 2010. Afterwards, from 2014 to 2016, they pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Epidemiology at the University at Buffalo. Following this, Zhengqi Tan furthered their education by completing a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Epidemiology at UNT Health Science Center from 2017 to 2022. In addition to their formal education, they obtained various certifications, including the SAS Certified Advanced Programmer for SAS 9 and SAS Certified Base Programmer for SAS 9 from SAS in January 2016 and December 2015, respectively. Zhengqi also completed several courses on Coursera in subjects such as microeconomics principles, getting and cleaning data, regression models, exploratory data analysis, R programming, reproducible research, and computing for data analysis, all during 2014. Additionally, Zhengqi Tan obtained a Public Health Physician certification in July 2011.
