Junior School Principal at Punahou School

In the 2015 – 2016 school year, Dr. Priore-Kim became the fourth person to serve as the Kindergarten – Grade 8 Principal since the position was established in 1950. She is an alumna of Punahou School and Princeton University. She earned both her master’s degree in Private School Leadership and her doctorate in Professional Educational Practice from the University of Hawai’i – Manoa.

Dr. Priore-Kim began her tenure at Punahou as a substitute and summer school teacher in the Junior School, joining the Punahou faculty full-time in 1998 as a middle school Social Studies teacher. After serving one year as Assistant Director of the Luke Center for Public Service, she became an Academy Dean in the 2007 – 2008 school year, leading the Classes of 2011 and 2015. She has also taught Academy courses in the European Language and in the Psychosocial Departments.

While a member of Punahou’s faculty, Dr. Priore-Kim earned both her master’s degree in Private School Leadership and her doctorate in Professional Educational Practice from the University of Hawaiʻi – Mānoa. Her doctoral dissertation focused on “Understanding Reflective Practice at Punahou School: From Institutional Aspiration to Practitioner Action.”
