João Marques

João Marques has a strong background in downstream process development and has held various roles in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. João is currently working as a Principal Downstream Scientist at Purespring Therapeutics, starting in November 2022. Before joining Purespring Therapeutics, João worked at GSK from 2017 to 2022, where they served as an Investigator in Downstream Process Development - CMC from October 2020 to November 2022 and as a Senior Scientist in Downstream Process Development - CMC from February 2017 to October 2020. Prior to GSK, João worked at Bio Products Laboratory as a GMP Technician from 2015 to 2017 and at AtralCipan as a Fermentation Specialist from 2013 to 2015.

João Marques pursued their education at the Universidade da Beira Interior. From 2007 to 2011, they obtained a Licentiate degree in Biochemistry. Following this, they furthered their education by completing a Master's degree in Biochemistry from 2011 to 2013 at the same institution.
