Michael J. Woodall

Chief of Operations at Putnam Investments

Michael J. Woodall is the current Chief of Operations at Putnam Investments. Prior to this, they served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the National Investment Company Service Association (NICSA) from May 2010 to October 2011. In this role, they provided leadership to the Board of Directors and professional staff and helped navigate the organization through one of the most challenging times for the Investment industry. Michael also provided guidance to the President on achieving lowering operating expenses and improving/stabilizing annual revenues. Additionally, they personally met with each Board member to improve engagement level and implemented Officer level nomination process and succession plan. Upon conclusion of their term, they were named Director Emeritus and continues to stay active in an executive advisor capacity.

Woodall began their career at Putnam Investments in 1997 as Senior Vice President, Head of Business Planning & Development. In 2003, they were promoted to Managing Director, Head of Enterprise Services. Michael held this position until 2007 when they were again promoted to Executive & Head of Investor Services, a position they held until 2019 when they assumed their current role as Chief of Operations.

Michael J. Woodall earned a Business Administration and Management degree from Northeastern University.

Michael J. Woodall reports to Robert L. Reynolds , President & CEO . They are on a team with Mark J. Mckenna - Head of Global Marketing, Michael V. Salm - Chief Investment Officer, Fixed Income, and Scott C. Sipple - Head of Global Retail Management.
