Ken Kobayashi

Ken Kobayashi, MD has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry. Most recently, they worked as the Chief Medical Officer at Pyxis Oncology starting in November 2023. Prior to that, they served as an Advisory Board Member at Doctor Evidence, LLC starting in May 2023. Ken also held the position of President at Small Woods Biopharma Consulting, LLC starting in September 2022.

Before their current roles, Dr. Kobayashi worked as a Senior Vice President at Kinnate Biopharma Inc. from June 2021 to September 2022. Ken held the position of Vice President at Pfizer from March 2019 to June 2021. Additionally, they served as an Executive Director at Daiichi Sankyo, Inc. from October 2016 to March 2019 and as an Executive Director Physician-Oncology at AstraZeneca from February 2015 to October 2016.

Dr. Kobayashi's earlier experiences include various leadership roles at Janssen, Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson and Johnson, where they served as an Oncology Regional Therapeutic Area Expert, Americas from January 2014 to February 2015, a Therapeutic Area Lead, Oncology at Janssen Pharma KK from August 2013 to January 2014, and a Therapeutic Area Head, Oncology at Janssen Pharma KK from January 2011 to August 2013.

Prior to their industry roles, Dr. Kobayashi worked as an Executive Director at Novartis Oncology from July 2004 to January 2011 and as a Senior Clinical Investigator at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) from June 2002 to July 2004.

Ken Kobayashi, MD completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology at Washington University in St. Louis from 1978 to 1982. Ken then pursued their medical education at Northwestern University - The Feinberg School of Medicine, earning their MD in Medicine from 1982 to 1986. In addition, they have obtained various certifications including Project Management Boot Camp from UC San Diego Extended Studies and the SITC-G Certificate in Cancer Immunotherapy from the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC). Ken is also certified as a Mediator by the National Conflict Resolution Center and has completed courses in leading with Emotional Intelligence and setting team and employee goals using the SMART methodology.
