Halina Krzystek

Halina Krzystek has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as the Bioinformatics Data Services Team Lead at Q² Solutions. In this position, they lead a team of bioinformaticians, providing guidance and support on client projects.

Prior to this, Halina worked as a Bioinformaticist at the same company, where they processed and performed quality control of next-generation sequencing data. Halina also managed data and provided data delivery services to pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients, using various bioinformatics tools and software.

Before joining Q² Solutions, Halina worked as a Bioinformatics Analyst and Graduate Student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In addition, they have experience as an Academic Tutor, teaching genetics, and as an Instructor of Genetics at Duke University, where they taught lab classes and developed lab lessons.

Halina also worked as an Instructional Counselor in Genetics at Duke University Talent Identification Program and as a Student Researcher at Duke University.

Halina Krzystek attended James S Rickards High School from 2005 to 2009, where they obtained their H.S. diploma. Halina then pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) with Distinction in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology, with minors in Chemistry and Spanish, at Duke University from 2009 to 2013. In 2018, they enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed a Master's of Professional Science in Biomedical and Health Informatics in 2020. Halina has also obtained additional certifications, including Advanced Python and Using Python with Excel from LinkedIn, Outlook: Efficient Email Management from LinkedIn, and Duolingo Spanish Fluency: Advanced and Duolingo French Fluency: Elementary from Duolingo.
