Mike Alvarez

CEO at Qardio

Mike Alvarez is the current CEO at Qardio. Prior to this, they served as the US VP Cardiovascular Diagnostics Sales and Services at Medtronic from October 2009 to November 2021. In this role, they were responsible for heading the implantable Cardiovascular Diagnostics and Services field organization in the US.

Before Medtronic, Alvarez held various sales and marketing positions at Abbott from January 1991 to December 1997. Mike then moved to Roche where they worked in Managed Care, Healthcare Economics and Contracting from March 1997 to July 2001.

After Roche, Alvarez worked as a Regional Account Manager at Sanofi-Aventis from July 2001 to March 2003, covering Texas and Louisiana. Mike then joined Novo Nordisk A/S as a Strategic Accounts Executive from March 2003 to March 2005, responsible for institutional, Long Term Care, GPO and IDN accounts for Biotech, Insulin, and Human Growth Hormone products.

From March 2005 to October 2009, Alvarez served as the Regional Sales Director at St. Jude Medical, where they managed a team of sales and service employees in the implantable pacemaker and defibrillators in the midwest.

Mike Alvarez has a Master of Business Administration from Loyola University New Orleans and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management from the University of New Orleans. Mike also attended Archbishop Shaw High School.
