Basem Shahrouri

Head Of Business Banking Division, Wholesale Banking Group at Qatar Islamic Bank

Basem Shahrouri began their work experience in 2000 at Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank as the Head of Corporate & Commercial Finance in the AL Ain Area. Basem worked there until 2006 when they joined Sharjah Islamic Bank as the AVP of the Corporate Banking Group and Head of the SME Department. During their time at Sharjah Islamic Bank, they managed a team of three Relationship Managers and established the SME department. In 2012, they moved to Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) as the Head of the Business Banking Division in the Wholesale Banking Group. Basem was responsible for overseeing the Mid & Small market, establishing a new business service center for SMEs, managing assets & liabilities, and leading a team of 18 staff members. Their role also involved managing P&L, product development & structure, and reporting to the General Manager of the Wholesale Banking Group and later the Group CEO.

From 1988 to 1992, Basem Shahrouri studied at Yarmouk University, where they earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree. Their field of study was in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services.
