Samer Alfarra

Samer AlFarra has extensive work experience in the field of information technology and infrastructure. Samer started their career at Intelligent Network Systems as a Network Engineer in 1996, followed by a position as a Computer Networks Engineer at Computer & Communications Systems from 1997 to 1999. Samer then worked as a Network Engineer at Computer Network Systems in 1999 and later as a Network Consultant at the same company from 2000 to 2003.

In 2003, Samer AlFarra joined Qatar Foundation as a Network Specialist, where they stayed until 2008. During this time, they held various roles at Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) including Head of Networks and Head of Information Technology Department. Samer also worked as the Head of IT Infrastructure at QIB from 2010 to 2011.

Samer AlFarra joined Hewlett Packard Enterprise as a Service Delivery Manager in 2011 and later worked as a Major Account Manager at Fortinet in 2013. In the same year, they took on the role of Manager International IT Support at ADIB - Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank.

Since 2014, Samer AlFarra has been employed at Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) in multiple positions. Samer started as the Head of IT support and service desk, later becoming the Head of User Access Control. Currently, they hold the positions of Head of IT Networks, Head of IT Security, and Architect Infrastructure & Security.

Samer AlFarra completed their Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree in Computer Engineering from Philadelphia University between the years 1991 and 1996. Additionally, they hold several certifications in the field of IT and network security, including Cisco Advance security Field specialist (ASFE), Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP), Extreme Network Specialist (ENS) (equivalent to Cisco CCIE), ISSAF Penetration Testing- Qualified (I-PTQ), and ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT- Service Management.
