Lucia Alberto has over 20 years of experience in the field of conservation, specializing in photography. Lucia started their career at Centro Português de Fotografia, where they played a key role in creating and developing the Conservation Department and the Conservation Lab. Their responsibilities included conservation treatments on various photographic collections, preventive conservation measures, matting and framing vintage photographs, and conducting surveys of photographic exhibitions. In 2006, they moved on to work at Luís Pavão Lda. as a conservator until 2013. Currently, Lucia works as a Senior Photography Conservator at Qatar Museums.
Lucia Alberto obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Conservation of Photographs from Escola Superior de Conservação e Restauro in Lisboa, which they attended from 1993 to 1998. Later, in 2004, they pursued a Master's Degree in Conservation at Camberwell College of Arts, University of Art, London, completing their studies in 2005.
