Joshua A. Slater

Joshua A. Slater, PhD, is an accomplished technology officer at Q*BIRD B.V. since May 2023, with a robust background in quantum science and engineering. Prior experience includes serving as a Quantum Scientist/Engineer at QuTech from April 2018 to April 2023, where Joshua developed prototype experiments in quantum cryptography and contributed to the design of a new lab space. Joshua held the position of VCQ Research Fellow at the University of Vienna from September 2014 to April 2018, focusing on building experimental efforts with superconducting micro-objects and fostering a research consortium across multiple European universities. Notable past roles include developing a machine-learning API at Pivago and conducting research in particle physics and astronomy, alongside a strong academic foundation with a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Calgary.
