Fernando Gonzalez

Fernando Gonzalez is an Executive in Residence at QED. Fernando comes to QED as a seasoned global technologist, an inspiring digital expert, and a growth driven leader. Fernando has a successful track record in developing technology driven businesses that harness the power of analytics, software and data to gain velocity, relevance, and scalability using disruptive business models.

Prior to QED, Fernando spent two decades working for rapid-growing organizations leveraging Big Data, Mobile, and Cloud technologies. Most recently, Fernando served as an executive at comScore where he pioneered new revenue verticals. Prior to comScore, Fernando spent over 14 years in various senior roles at MicroStrategy (NASDAQ: MSTR), and a year as a JDE/SAP practitioner.

Fernando began his career as a consultant specializing in large-scale ERP implementations for multi-national corporations. Fernando then transitioned into the Analytics/BI space by joining MicroStrategy, where he performed various roles including engineering, sales, channels, marketing, product management, and general management. Among Fernando’s main career achievements are the global expansion and exit of a SaaS business unit, the creation of an innovative Marketing Intelligence Network business unit from the ground up, the development of a VAR/OEM commercial channel, and the execution of a company transformation to verticalize the GTM strategy, accelerate top line growth, mitigate risk, and capitalize on key assets.

A frequent speaker at numerous industry-leading events, Fernando is known for his leadership and mastery of analytics across a wide range of applications ranging from marketing optimization to fraud prevention, and media measurement. Fernando’s reputation as a strong leader, a result oriented executive, a fair business partner, and a passionate innovation advocate precedes him.

Outside of work, Fernando enjoys training for triathlons and marathons, playing tennis or coaching youth soccer. Fernando is an angel investor and an advisor of very early stage companies. He holds an MBA from the Smith School of Business at University of Maryland and a BS in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Tec de Monterrey in Mexico. He lives in the Washington DC metro area with his wife and three children.
