Cloud Architect at QIC

Steve Austin has a diverse work history spanning over 25 years. Steve began their career as a Mainframe Operator at Luton Borough Council in 1992 and later transitioned to the role of Operations Analyst at Transamerica in 1995.

Returning to Luton Borough Council in 1997, Steve served as a Network Analyst before progressing to the position of Senior Network Support Analyst. During this time, they were part of a team responsible for the infrastructure group's networking needs. Steve then became a Senior Technical Support Analyst, where they supported over 3500 users and worked on various major projects.

In 2007, Steve founded their own company, Illumine IT Services Ltd, where they served as the Managing Director. After three years, they returned to Luton Borough Council as a Senior Technical Support Analyst until 2010.

Steve's career then took a shift towards the aviation industry. Steve joined easyJet as an Infrastructure Engineer and eventually moved on to become the Interim IT Infrastructure Manager. In this role, they managed a team of eleven engineers and oversaw all infrastructure services for easyJet. Steve also held positions as an Infrastructure Team Leader and Solutions Architect.

After easyJet, Steve worked at Avanade Australia PTY as a Consultant and Senior Consultant, specializing in infrastructure and talent community management.

Their most recent position was at QIC, where they served as a Senior Cloud Systems Engineer and later as a Cloud Architect. Steve focused on cloud migration, platform establishment, and driving adoption of cloud technologies.

Throughout their career, Steve has demonstrated expertise in cloud services, infrastructure architecture, technical support, and project management.

Steve Austin attended Luton VIth Form College from 1990 to 1992, where they studied information technology and statistical mathematics. In addition, they obtained several certifications, including MS: Implementing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions in April 2015, MCSA: Windows Server 2012 in February 2015, MCSA: Windows Server 2008 in April 2012, MCITP: Server Administrator on Windows Server 2008 in January 2012, MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure, Configuration in October 2011, MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, Configuration in August 2011, and ITIL Foundation v3 in July 2010.
