Nirmal Thomas, PMP®️

Nirmal Thomas, PMP®️, has a diverse work experience in various roles related to robotics, engineering, and teaching. Nirmal started their career as an Industrial Trainee at Taneja Aerospace & Aviation Ltd in 2010. Nirmal then had internships at Cochin Port Trust and Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in 2011. In 2012, Nirmal worked as a CAD Engineer at http://www.cad-inn.com/, where they provided training and project guidance in advanced engineering areas. Nirmal gained experience in software tools such as Solidworks, Pro-E, CATIA, and Autodesk Inventor. Nirmal also has expertise in analysis tools like Ansys and Comsol Multiphysics.

From 2014 to 2015, Nirmal served as a Teaching Assistant at SRM University, where they supported faculty members and assisted undergraduate students in their projects and studies. In 2015, they joined The Hi-Tech Robotic Systemz Ltd as a Research Engineer, focusing on autonomous mobile vehicle designs. Nirmal worked on concept development, dynamic analysis, and hardware and software specifications. Nirmal also performed FEM analysis, released design drawings, and created bill of materials. Nirmal's responsibilities also included DFMEA, FMEA studies, and root cause analysis.

In 2017, Nirmal was promoted to the position of Design Team Lead at ASIMOV Robotics. Nirmal led technical teams in developing various robotics projects, including autonomous indoor navigation vehicles, humanoid service robots, articulated robot arms, and animatronics faces. Their responsibilities included coordinating software and design teams, resolving issues and bugs, and designing prototypes using additive and conventional manufacturing methods.

Currently, Nirmal holds the position of Engineering Manager Robotics at QikPod (LeapMile Logistics Private Limited) from 2020.

Nirmal Thomas, PMP®, has a strong educational background in engineering. Nirmal obtained their Master of Technology (MTech) degree in Robotics Engineering from SRM University, which they attended from 2013 to 2015. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kerala, where they studied from 2008 to 2012.

In addition to their formal education, Nirmal has attained several certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. These certifications include "Machine Learning with Python" from IBM through Coursera, obtained in February 2019; "The 3D Printing Revolution" from Coursera Course Certificates, obtained in October 2016; "Robotics: Computational Motion Planning" from Coursera Course Certificates, obtained in June 2016; "Robotics: Aerial Robotics" from the University of Pennsylvania, obtained in April 2016; "Control of Mobile Robots" from Georgia Institute of Technology through Coursera, obtained in March 2014. Additionally, they gained certification as an "Inventor 2011 Certified Associate" from Autodesk in August 2011 and became a "Certified Information Security Expert" through Innobuzz Knowledge Solutions Private Limited in July 2013.

Most recently, Nirmal achieved the highly regarded "Project Management Professional (PMP)" certification from the Project Management Institute in December 2020, showcasing their expertise in project management.
