Nils Thieme

Nils Thieme is a Biotechnologist Senior at Planet A Foods who focuses on building clean food supply chains through state-of-the-art biotechnology, flavor science, and clean natural ingredients. Prior to this role, Nils worked as a Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter (Postdoc) at Technische Universität München, where Nils was involved in valorizing milling byproducts as a substrate for the fermentative production of an industrial lubricant based on butanol. Nils also worked on deciphering fungal perception of the carbohydrate space of plant biomatter and developing novel biorefinery processes. Nils holds a Dr. rer. nat. in Molecular Biology from the Technical University of Munich, as well as a Master of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Biology, both from Technische Universität Braunschweig.
