Ed Legier currently serves as the Lead Engineer at Qualus since January 2023, focusing on transmission and distribution substation design and protective relaying. Prior to this role, Ed was a Senior Electrical Engineer at Tri Sage Consulting from May 2014 to July 2023, also specializing in substation design and protective relaying. Earlier experience includes working as a Relay Test Engineer at Hampton Tedder Electric Co from March 2013 to April 2014, where testing of solid state and microprocessor relays was conducted. At Ram Power from April 2010 to March 2013, Ed oversaw electrical production and construction efforts for geothermal power plants in Nicaragua and trained local engineers. Ed's career began at NV Energy, serving as a Staff Engineer from November 1981 to April 2010, and earlier served as a Reactor Operator in the U.S. Navy from 1975 to 1978. Ed holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno, completed between 1985 and 1993.
