David Keightley

VP Quantum Prototyping at Quantum Brilliance

David Keightley has extensive experience in the technology industry, having worked in various roles since 1982. In 1982, they began their career as a Programmer for Gulton Data Systems Division, where they worked on embedded single board computer (SBC) testing systems for command decoders on various satellites. David then moved to Prime R&D Australia in 1985, where they worked on telecommunication subsystems. In 1989, they joined CSIRO as an R&D Manager, where they led a portfolio and team in the visualization group at the Division of Mathematics and Information Science. This work included defining research and development directions in a variety of advanced systems and signal processing projects, as well as leadership roles. David left CSIRO in 1997 to co-found and co-direct Mediaware International, where they developed products based on their group's R&D efforts in compressed domain MPEG processing. In 2008, they moved to General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems (GDAIS) as a Distinguished Engineer. David continued work on designing and marketing unmanned systems and sensor subsystems, and acted as an evangelist to industry. In 2010, they founded and became CEO of Ecospectral Pty Ltd, a company developing cloud connected building and consumer devices to assist in lowering energy consumption while providing environmental control. In 2022, they took on the role of VP Quantum Prototyping at Quantum Brilliance.

David Keightley received their Bachelor's degree in Physics from The University of New Mexico between 1978 and 1983. David then went on to receive their Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics from the University of Arizona between 1992 and 1994.
