🚀 About the Role The cyber security intern will work in Google Workspace, Google Cloud Platform as well as in all the enterprise security solutions to help maintain a secure environment for our Quantum Metric customers. You will assist the Security Engineering team in researching, designing, and implementing the overall cyber security strategy, keeping QM info safe, and eliminating risks across our products and internal systems.

🔧 Responsibilities

  • Assist the Security Engineering team in working with CloudOps & DevOps engineers to recommend and configure appropriate security controls and procedures in Cloud environments
  • Support the Security Engineering team in the secure deployment, configuration, and patching of container and virtual images
  • Contribute in the design and publication of Incident Response playbooks, as well as the overall IR program
  • Assist as needed in security assessments & penetration tests, and help team members communicate and remediate findings with all proper stakeholders
  • Support a comprehensive vulnerability management program that identifies any security gaps in cloud assets and services
  • Help monitor enterprise tools for any security incidents, and actively assist all technical teams in responding and mitigating any perceived threats to the environment
  • Monitor vulnerability advisories and disclosures on a daily basis, and ensure adequate remediation follow up by all stakeholders
  • Keep track of security trends, news and tool features on a daily basis, and recommend appropriate steps, to continuously improve Quantum Metric’s security posture

  • Being self sufficient in monitoring the various security dashboards to look for any significant events
  • Demonstrate an assertive ‘take-charge’ attitude with respect to security task & projects
  • The ability to proactively seek and tackle security engineering problems
  • Build string relationships with team members and stakeholders across the organization
  • Working closely with the security team to ensure that the level of risk to the org is manageable and within acceptable levels
