Vice President Of Photonics And Chip Integration at Quantum-Si

Gerard Schmid has extensive work experience in the field of photonics and chip integration. Gerard is currently serving as the Vice President of Photonics and Chip Integration at Quantum-Si since October 2021. Prior to this role, they held the position of Head of Photonics at Quantum-Si from September 2019 to October 2021. Before joining Quantum-Si, they worked as a Senior Scientist at the same company from November 2013 to September 2019.

Before Quantum-Si, Gerard worked at GLOBALFOUNDRIES as an SMTS Lithography Research from September 2011 to November 2013. Prior to that, they worked as a Sr Template Engineer at Molecular Imprints Inc. from June 2005 to September 2011.

Gerard started their career as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory from August 2003 to June 2005. Their early work experience also includes a role as a Graduate Research Intern at Intel Technology CAD from May 1999 to September 2000.

Gerard Schmid completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology from 1994 to 1998. Gerard then pursued their Master of Science (MS) degree in Chemical Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin from 1998 to 2002. Gerard further advanced their education by obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Chemical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, where they studied from 1998 to 2003.
