Johan Denecke

Johan Denecke has extensive work experience in operations and engineering roles. Johan currently holds the position of Senior Vice President of Operations at Quantum-Si, starting in June 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Vice President of Operations at Atomica (formerly IMT) from April 2020 to June 2023.

Before joining Quantum-Si and Atomica, Johan worked at Illumina from November 2015 to April 2020. During their time at Illumina, they held the roles of Vice President of Engineering (Operations), where they were responsible for manufacturing engineering and science for consumables, and Vice President of Manufacturing, Consumables.

From January 2013 to November 2015, Johan worked at Thermo Fisher Scientific as the Vice President of Global Quality Assurance for Life Science Solutions. In this role, they were responsible for quality assurance for operations worldwide, including managing the Quality Management System and driving business improvements.

Prior to Thermo Fisher Scientific, Johan worked at Life Technologies from November 2010 to January 2013 as the Director of Operations for Eugene (Legacy Molecular Probes). Johan led the transformation of the site's manufacturing operations, resulting in significant cost reductions and improvements in quality and employee engagement.

Johan also served as the Director of Manufacturing for Austin (Legacy Ambion) at Life Technologies from June 2008 to May 2010. Before Life Technologies, they worked at Applied Biosystems from 2004 to 2008 as the Director of Process Excellence, where they were responsible for implementing Six Sigma, Lean, and Design for Six Sigma methodologies.

Earlier in their career, Johan worked at Advanced Integrated Technologies as a Director, managing Lean Manufacturing implementations in various industries, and at Lean Systems Inc as a Principal. Johan started their career at AlliedSignal as a Black Belt, Lean Expert, Production Supervisor, and Manufacturing Engineer.

Johan Denecke attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1988 to 1995, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree and Masters in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering.
