Melody Lira, CSP has a rich work experience spanning over three decades. Melody currently holds the position of Principal EHS Engineer at QuantumScape since May 2021. Before that, they served as an HSE Manager at CBRE@GOOGLE from December 2019 to May 2021.

Before joining the industry, Melody gained experience as an EHS Specialist at EORM from 1998 to 2003. Melody initially started their career as a Buyer at Sony Electronics in 1997 and later worked as an Associate Buyer at The Complete PC from 1990 to 1993.

Throughout their career, Melody has demonstrated their expertise in various aspects of EHS, including compliance, training, program management, and incident investigations. Melody is a Certified Safety Professional and holds certifications in First Aid, CPR, and AED.

Melody Lira, CSP, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science with a minor in Chemistry and an emphasis in EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) from San Jose State University, which they completed in 2001. Melody also has an Associate of Science degree in Physical Science from Asia-Pacific International University. Furthermore, Melody earned a Certificate in Hazardous Materials Management from UC Santa Cruz Extension.

Additionally, Melody has obtained several certifications to enhance their expertise. Melody completed the Unconscious Bias certification from LinkedIn in July 2020. In April 2018, they obtained the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Trainer certification from FEMA.
