Andrew Jowsey has a diverse work experience in the field of firmware development, embedded systems research, mechanical project lead, and software development. Since 2017, they have worked as a Firmware Developer at Qube Technologies, where they collaborated with hardware engineers and software teams to develop new product designs, maintained existing firmware components, and created software design documentation for projects. Prior to this, from 2017 to 2020, they worked at General Dynamics Mission Systems as a Firmware Developer, where they developed Linux device-driver kernel modules, hardware drivers, and shared libraries using a CI/CD pipeline. During their tenure, they also estimated time requirements and priorities for tasks and performed the role of an individual developer and intermediate scrum master. In 2017, Andrew worked as an Embedded Systems Researcher at Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation. From 2013 to 2017, they held the position of Mechanical Project Lead at University of Alberta Aerial Robotics Group (UAARG) and also conducted Integrated Oilsands Systems Research during 2014. Additionally, in 2016, they worked as a Software Developer at Garmin Cochrane, and in 2015, they gained experience as a Co-op Engineering Student at Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL).
From 2012 to 2017, Andrew Jowsey attended the University of Alberta where they obtained an Engineer's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
