Renee Cortez, MSc has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple fields. Renee most recently worked as a Physical Sciences Researcher/Scientist II at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment since February 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Lab Analyst at Quicksilver Scientific starting from January 2019. Before that, they served as an Analytical Chemist at Reservoirs Environmental Inc from June 2006 to January 2019. Additionally, they worked as an International Student Researcher at the University of Colorado Denver for a brief period in May and June 2015. During this role, they assessed cultural rock art and stability in Grenada, explored geological formations, and evaluated the impacts of heritage and tourism on the island.

Renee Cortez holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Data Analytics from Southern New Hampshire University, which they obtained from 2022 to 2023. Prior to that, from 2013 to 2016, they pursued two degrees at the University of Colorado Denver. Renee earned a Certificate in Geographic Information Science and Cartography and a Master's Degree in Environmental Science during this time. Earlier in their academic journey, they attended Metropolitan State University of Denver from 2001 to 2007 and obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology.
