Rob Hasty

General Counsel at Quit Genius

Rob Hasty is currently the General Counsel at Quit Genius. Prior to this, they were the Vice President & Deputy General Counsel at Modernizing Medicine from March 2015 to March 2017. Before that, they were a Consultant at Gilead Sciences from November 2014 to January 2015, where they consulted on structuring and negotiating complex IT/IP/data agreements, clinical trial support services, cloud-based marketing initiatives and patient support programs. From July 2010 to June 2014, Hasty worked as Counsel at White & Case, where they focused on more nimble, scalable technology arrangements such as cloud, aaS and multi-supplier panels, including innovative governance regimes and risk management strategies, especially for global financial institutions. Rob was awarded 1st place by the Financial Times in the "Lawyers to the Innovators" category of the 2013 Legal Innovation report for the multi-supplier panel structure and governance designed for Best Buy's IT outsourcings. Hasty has also worked on social media and digital content deals to develop new versions of mobile social networking apps distributed across LATAM and Europe and for Science Friday to move from NPR to PRI. In addition, they have experience with contract manufacturing and supply chain sourcing arrangement in China to develop and introduce a new product line in the U.S. Lastly, they provide data protection and privacy counseling.

Rob Hasty received their JD from the University of Virginia School of Law. Rob also completed a summer study abroad program at Oxford University's Magdalen College, where they studied EU law and public international law. Prior to law school, Rob Hasty obtained their BSE in electrical engineering from Duke University, with a double major in public policy studies. Rob also attended the Ransom-Everglades School.
