Tom Couser

Tom Couser has worked in the software engineering field for over 8 years. In 2012, they were hired as a Computer Game Developer/Programmer at Manchester University and Manchester Metropolitan University. At Manchester Metropolitan University, they were awarded the Student Employee of the Year award. In 2013, they joined ASH Gaming LTD as a Software Engineer and wrote tools to automate processes, saving hundreds of man hours. In 2015, they were hired as a Software Engineer at Avecto, where they created new features for a highly mature endpoint security product. Tom then joined BeyondTrust in 2018 as a Senior Software Engineer, where they solved complex programming issues and lead the construction of a Python based automated malware analysis lab. In 2019, Tom joined ANS Group as a Senior Software Engineer and completely rebuilt and modernised the self-serve customer backup system. Currently, they are a Technical Lead at Qumata.

Tom Couser has an extensive education history. Tom received a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Games Development from The Manchester Metropolitan University between 2011 and 2015. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Computer Software Engineering from Pendleton College between 2007 and 2010. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in September 2021, Windows Internals for Reverse Engineers /w Alex Ionescu from OffensiveCon in February 2018, Safe Certified Scrum Master from Scaled Agile Framework Certification Training in August 2019, and Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) from Scrum Alliance in May 2017.
