Michael Cahana has a diverse work experience, starting as a Research Assistant at the Kellogg School of Management in 2016. Later that year, they worked as a Product Management Intern at Fibroblast. In 2017, they became a Research Assistant in the Department of Economics at Northwestern University, where they focused on energy economics and data analysis.

In 2018, Cahana joined the Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago (EPIC) as a Research Fellow, conducting research in environmental and energy economics. During their time at EPIC, they worked extensively with complex datasets, including string cleaning, spatial data cleaning, and visualization. Michael also built supervised machine learning models and implemented various regression analyses.

Cahana continued their research at the University of Chicago, becoming a Project Associate at UChicago's Energy & Environment Lab in 2019. Michael Cahana has a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Northwestern University, which they obtained between 2015 and 2018. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor's Degree at NYU Stern School of Business between 2014 and 2015, although their field of study during that time is unknown. Additionally, they obtained certifications in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Wilderness First Aid from SOLO Wilderness Medical School in April 2016.
