Erik de Vrieze

Assistant Professor at Radboudumc

Erik de Vrieze is an Assistant Professor at Radboudumc since April 2013, focusing on developing tailored genetic therapies for patients with inherited adult-onset hearing loss. In previous roles as a Senior Scientific Researcher, Erik worked on understanding the molecular mechanisms of Usher syndrome and inherited hearing loss, aiming to translate findings into novel genetic therapies. This experience has fostered expertise in the development and valorisation of genetic therapies through collaboration with industrial partners. Prior to these positions, Erik completed a PhD in Animal Physiology at Radboud University Nijmegen from April 2009 to April 2013 and holds a Master of Science in Medical Biology from Radboud University, obtained in 2009.
