Marjolijn Duijvestein has extensive work experience in the field of gastroenterology and hepatology. Marjolijn is currently working at Radboudumc as the Head of Clinical and Translational Research in the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Marjolijn is also a Gastroenterologist and MDL-arts at the same institution. Marjolijn previously served as Chair of the Initiative on Crohn and Colitis (ICC). Prior to that, they worked at AMC as a Gastroenterologist and Resident in the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Marjolijn has also been a Clinical Fellow at Robarts Clinical Trials and a Visiting Scholar at UC San Diego Health. Their early career includes being a Resident in the Department of Internal Medicine at OLVG and a PhD student at LUMC in Leiden, Netherlands.

Marjolijn Duijvestein completed their education at Leiden University, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Medicine from 2007 to 2012. Prior to that, they obtained a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in Medicine from the same university, from 2000 to 2006.
