Bill Parrish

Adjunct Music Instructor

Bill Parrish is an accomplished oboist and educator with extensive experience in performance and music instruction. Currently serving as the Principal Oboe for the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra since September 2010, Bill also holds positions as an Adjunct Instructor of Oboe at Virginia Tech and Adjunct Music Instructor at Radford University, where responsibilities include teaching oboe lessons, reed making, and coaching wind chamber music groups. Additional performance roles have included participation in the Wintergreen Festival Orchestra and previous faculty positions at Washington and Lee University, Sweet Briar College, and Lynchburg College. Bill has also worked as a Certified Massage Therapist since 2010, specializing in techniques beneficial for performing artists. Academic credentials include a BFA in Music Performance from Carnegie Mellon University, an MM in oboe from the University of the Arts, an Artist Diploma from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, and DMA studies at the University of Michigan.
