Theresa Szczurek, PhD

Theresa Szczurek, PhD has an extensive work experience in various roles. Starting in 1990, they co-founded Radish Communications Systems and served as a C-level Executive (COO, CMO, Chief Strategy / Planning Officer), and Board Director. In 1995, they were appointed Commissioner for the Information Management Commission for the State of Colorado and served as Chair of the Board of Trustees, Managing Trustee, and Acting Executive Director for the Colorado Women's Education Foundation. Theresa was also a Board Member, Board Committees, Lead Mentor, and Advisor for the CTEK (formerly Boulder Technlogy Incubator and Colorado Technology Incubator). In 2009, they returned to Radish Systems, LLC as Co-founder, CEO, and Vice Chair of the Board of Directors. In 2019, they were appointed Chief Information Officer (CIO), Exec. Director Office of IT, and Governor's Cabinet Member for the State of Colorado. Theresa also served as Chair, Board Director, and Committees (Personnel, Finance / Audit, Innovation) for the Statewide Internet Portal Authority | SIPA. In 2020, they were appointed Board Director, COO, and Co-founder for Radish Systems, LLC and Trustee, Chair of Ad Hoc Committee for Policy, and Chair of Ad Hoc Committee for Action for Western Colorado University.

Theresa Szczurek, PhD obtained their Ph.D. and MBA in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing and Organizational Development from the University of Colorado Boulder in 1989. Theresa also holds an M.S. in Operations Research from Stanford University and a B.S. with high honors in Mathematics with Statistics and Finance minors from Western Illinois University. In addition, Szczurek has obtained several certifications, including the Board Ready Women's Program from Deloitte in 2022, the Board Diversity Initiative from the NYSE in 2021, the ORBIE Colorado CIO of the Year in Public Sector from the InspireCIO Leadership Network in 2020, Woman of Distinction from the Girl Scouts of Colorado in 2019, Lifetime Achievement Winner from the Business and Professional Woman of Colorado in 2019, and Certified Management Consultant (CMC) from the Institute of Management Consultants USA in 2010.
