Melissa Brand

Melissa Brand has a strong background in intellectual property law and corporate counsel. Melissa is currently working as the Director of Corporate Counsel and IP at Radius Health, Inc., a position they have held since May 2023. Prior to that, they served as an Intellectual Property Counsel at the same company from September 2021 to May 2023. Melissa also has experience in academia, serving as an Adjunct Professor of IP and Medicines at Georgetown Law since January 2019. Before transitioning to the pharmaceutical industry, they were the Assistant General Counsel and Director for IP Policy at the Biotechnology Innovation Organization from May 2017 to September 2021. Melissa has also worked as an Associate in Intellectual Property Litigation at Latham & Watkins from July 2015 to April 2017, and as a Law Clerk for the United States Court Appeals for the Federal Circuit from March 2014 to May 2015. Melissa began their legal career as an Attorney at Latham & Watkins from April 2011 to March 2014 and at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich and Rosati from December 2009 to April 2011.

Melissa Brand obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering from Vanderbilt University in 2006. Later, they pursued their Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Diego School of Law between 2006 and 2009.
