Nilesh Kumar

Nilesh Kumar has extensive work experience in the field of engineering and technology. Currently, they are serving as the VP of Engineering at Raena, a role they started in December 2021. Prior to that, they held a similar position at umma Indonesia from January 2021 to December 2021, where they managed a globally distributed team and was responsible for building a highly distributed and scalable content creator and engagement platform.

Before umma Indonesia, Nilesh worked as the VP of Engineering at Sayurbox from April 2019 to December 2020. During their time there, they managed a 30-person tech team and oversaw various aspects of the engineering department, including consumer apps, web platforms, infrastructure, and logistics platforms.

Earlier in their career, Nilesh held positions such as Engineering Manager I at Snapdeal from May 2015 to April 2019, and Software Engineer 2 at PayPal from September 2012 to April 2015. At PayPal, they were involved in Java and C++ server-side development for risk and fraud mitigation in transactions.

Nilesh's work experience also includes a role as a Senior Software Engineer at Bank of America Merrill Lynch from June 2009 to September 2012, where they focused on core C++ server-side development in electronic trading platforms and market data applications.

Nilesh Kumar completed their Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science from Vellore Institute of Technology, from 2005 to 2009. Prior to that, they attended Chinmaya Vidyalaya from 1990 to 2005, focusing on Computer Science. In terms of additional certifications, Nilesh obtained the New Manager Foundations certification from LinkedIn in April 2019, the HTTP Essential Training certification from LinkedIn in March 2019, and the Advanced UNIX Course certification from Hewlett-Packard in May 2008.
